Privacy Policy
Privacy is of utmost importance at Carney Battery Handling Ltd., Carney Fabricating and Carney Automation (together ‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘CBH’). We recognize the significance of protecting information which is stored on our computers or is intended to be stored on our computers and which relates to an individual. The data we protect is the ‘Personal Data’ which is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, sometimes called a data subject. We have made protecting privacy and the confidentiality of Personal Data a fundamental component of the way we do business. This Privacy Statement informs you of the ways we ensure privacy and the confidentiality of Personal Data. We are compliant with applicable privacy laws in the countries in which we operate. This policy describes the information we gather, how we may use the Personal Data and the circumstances under which we may disclose such information to third parties.
Collecting of Personal Data
We gather two types of information about users:
Client-supplied Customer Information:
Our clients hire us to manufacture and design material handling equipment to be used in their facilities based on requirements for application, safety and/or function. We may receive Personal Data comprising customer information from our clients and use this information under their instruction for the sole purpose of contacting our clients in alignment with our client agreements. Our agreements specifically state that client information will not be shared with or sold to any external party. This included client data supplied by potential new clients seeking online quotes, as submitted through our online quote form.
Aggregate Tracking Data:
This is information we gather through aggregated tracking data derived mainly by tallying page views throughout our websites. This information allows us to better tailor our content to readers’ needs and to help us to better understand the demographics of our audience. We track user traffic patterns throughout all of our sites. However, we do not correlate this information with data about individual users. To improve the quality of our site and services, we may break down overall usage statistics according to a user’s domain name, browser type, and MIME type by reading this information from the browser string (information contained in every user’s browser). We may track and catalog the search terms that users enter where we offer a Search function, but this tracking is never associated with individual users. We use aggregate tracking information to determine which areas of our sites users frequent based on traffic to those areas. We do not track what individual users read, but rather how well each page performs overall. This helps us continue to build a better service for you.
Cookies
We also may use ‘cookies’ from time to time to help personalize your online experience with us. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer to help us make your visit to our site more ‘user friendly’. Cookies provide us with information about your use of the site that can help us improve the site and your experience with it. Any Personal Data collected through cookies will be treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you have set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies, you should receive a warning message with each cookie. You may refuse cookie by turning them off in your browser, however, you should be aware that our site, like most other popular sites, may not work well with cookies disabled.
A cookie can’t read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites. CBH uses cookies to track user traffic patterns (as described above). Our system delivers a one-time cookie to better track ad impressions and click rates.
Use and Disclosure of Personal Data
Any Personal Data collected by us is used solely to improve our products and services to our customers. When we conduct business with our clients, we enter into confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements that legally obligate us to protect those data which we receive and to use those data only for the purposes specified in the contract.
The use of information supplied by our clients is governed by our contracts with our clients. We do not access or use Personal Data supplied by our clients for any purposes other than those stated in our contractual obligations with those clients. Except as part of the sale of all or substantially all of our assets, we will not use your Personal Data unless we have your consent.
We will only use and/or disclose Personal Data internally in order to:
- Understand and meet your needs and preferences;
- Develop new and enhance existing service and product offerings;
- Manage and develop our business and operations;
- Carry out any purposes for which we have received your consent;
- Enabling you to participate in our polls, surveys, social media, message boards and forums; and
- Meet legal and regulatory requirements.
Personal Data may be collected, stored and/or processed by third party service providers or by companies in our corporate family to perform functions on our behalf. All such third parties will be contractually bound to protect data in compliance with our policy.
Except where we are required by law to disclose Personal Data or are exempted from, released from or not subject to any legal requirement concerning the disclosure of Personal Data, we will require any person to whom we provide your Personal Data to agree to comply with our Privacy Policy in force at that time or requirements substantially similar to such policy. If a third party requires access to Personal Data relating to you, we shall require them to obtain your consent for such access, an appropriate Court order or the right under appropriate local law to access our database.
We reserve the right to use aggregated data provided that those data do not relate to any individual. We may create aggregate reports on our site visitors’ demographics and traffic patterns for advertisers, sponsors and partners. This allows us to engage with you more effectively, and allows our users to receive advertisements that are pertinent to their needs. Because we don’t track the usage patterns of individual users, any advertiser or sponsor will never know that a specific user clicked their ad.

These laws set out obligations on the protection of individuals with regards to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data.
Withdrawal of Consent
Except as required or enabled by law, we will not use or disclose your Personal Data for any purpose for which you refuse consent or later withdraw your consent. You also understand that although you can use our site for some purposes without providing Personal Data, we need certain Personal Data, including data linked to payment or involving an ongoing relationship with us or our partners.
